Praxis is a word that literally means “doing;” but there is so much more to the word. It is the process by which a theory, lesson, or skill is enacted, embodied, or realized. This blog (and for that matter, this website and business) is the realization and the embodiment of the skills developed from years of lessons learned from both theory and action. The combination of this blog, website, and business is my Righteous Path: to help business owners to understand, manage, protect, and grow their resources.
Dr. Tomasz Fediuk and I have been working together in various forms for about 10 years now and there are few people in this world that I trust as much as I trust Tom. He knows all of my shortcomings and yet he continues to want to work with me. He is one of the most intelligent people I’ve ever met and I even think he is smarter than I am (if you know me well, you’d know that that is very hard for me to admit; just don’t tell Tom I believe know that). Tom is a very wise man (he did choose to be my business partner) and he is my Advocatus Diaboli. Tom is to me what Brian Eno is to Bono.
For the past decade, we have discussed, argued, wrote (and re-wrote many, many times), created, developed, theorized, argued some more, chased dreams, pivoted, and took great leaps (ok, I did). I know there have been times that Tom has even written me off as I’ve pursued other projects. Yet, through all the theories and actions, we’ve developed the Impact Capitalist for business owners who want to use their businesses to make an impact on the world and make it a better place, right where they are. The Impact Capitalist is the amalgamation and combination of each of our “deep smarts” and is the embodiment of our life’s work, together and individually.
Everything that has been, or will be, written or developed for this blog, website, and business has been vetted and defended as if it were a PhD thesis defense.
